The Doll’s House by Katherine Mansfield

Katherine Mansfield’s iconic short story of prejudice and injustice set in 1922, The Doll’s House, is introduced to a younger audience in this picture book edition, edited by Kevin Boon. Illustrated by Trish Bowles.

The three Burnell sisters receive a beautiful dollhouse. Their parents allow them to bring friends to view it but forbid them to show the dollhouse to the Kelvey sisters, because the Kelveys are poor. One day, however, Kezia Burnell grows bored at a party and decides to invite the Kelveys inside anyway.
